Neil Diamond's Journey to Accepting Parkinson's Diagnosis
Singer-songwriter Neil Diamond has revealed in an interview with CBS that he has only recently come to terms with his Parkinson's diagnosis, but has found a positive side to accepting his situation. Diamond retired from the stage in 2018 but promised to remain active in writing, recording, and other projects. A stage musical about his life, "Beautiful Noise," recently premiered. Diamond briefly unretired in 2018 to perform for firefighters battling a blaze in Colorado and rewrote the lyrics to "Sweet Caroline" in 2020 to promote social distancing during the pandemic.
