
Suspected Methanol Poisoning in Laos Claims Multiple Lives, Sparks Global Concern
Simone White, a British lawyer from Orpington, south-east London, died in Laos after consuming alcohol suspected to be laced with methanol. She was one of six tourists who died in the incident in Vang Vieng, a popular backpacking destination. White's employer, Squire Patton Boggs, and colleagues have paid tribute to her, describing her as a talented and kind individual. The UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office is supporting her family and other affected British nationals.
