
Colorado School Bus Driver Charged for Slamming on Brakes with Students Aboard
A substitute school bus driver for Castle Rock Elementary School in Colorado has been charged with 29 misdemeanor counts of child abuse with no injury and one count of child abuse/bodily injury after video footage showed him suddenly applying the brakes, causing children to violently lurch forward. The driver, Brian Fitzgerald, was apparently attempting to teach the children a lesson about sitting properly in their seats. The incident was reported by a parent and Fitzgerald is no longer employed by the Douglas County School District.
