Kyler Gordon Penalized for Taunting After Helmet Damage
During a scuffle between Bears defensive back Kyler Gordon and Vikings wide receiver Brandon Powell, Powell forcefully yanked Gordon's facemask, breaking some of the clips that attach it to the helmet. Surprisingly, Gordon was penalized 15 yards for removing his damaged helmet, while Powell escaped punishment. Gordon explained that he couldn't taunt Powell because he was busy trying to free his facemask. Despite showing the officials his damaged helmet and the Bears' coach's attempts to explain the situation, the penalty stood.
