Braathen's golden run crowns Brazil's first Winter Olympic medal
Lucas Pinheiro Braathen won the Alpine skiing giant slalom at Milano Cortina 2026, delivering Brazil its first Winter Olympics medal and making him the first South American to medal at the Games. He led after the first run and held on for a combined time of 2:25.00, ahead of Marco Odermatt (silver) and Loïc Meillard (bronze).
