Boston Beer in Talks to Sell to Jim Beam Owner Suntory
Shares of Boston Beer Company, known for its Samuel Adams brand, surged on reports that it is in early talks to sell to Japanese whiskey maker Suntory. The potential acquisition would give Suntory a larger presence in the U.S. market. Boston Beer, which also owns Truly Hard Seltzer and Twisted Tea, has faced challenges with shifting consumer preferences and a 25% drop in shares this year.
