Iowa claims Border Battle quad meet at Carver-Hawkeye Arena
The No. 10 Iowa women’s gymnastics team won the Border Battle Quad Meet at Carver-Hawkeye Arena with a 196.000, besting Illinois (194.950), Iowa State (193.400) and Illinois State (191.900). Iowa swept event titles on vault, bars, and floor, including a season-high 49.275 on bars led by 9.900s from Aurélie Tran and Daisy Bowles. Tran won vault (9.850) and placed second on floor and in the all-around; Sydney Turner won floor with a career-best 9.925. Coach Jen Llewellyn praised the depth and the home win; next up is Michigan State on Jan. 17.
