"Alaska Airlines Welcomes 737 MAX 8 and Announces Cabin Upgrades for Enhanced Range Routes"
Alaska Airlines is investing $130 million to update the interiors of its 59 Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with the project starting in late 2024 and expected to be completed by 2026. The reconfiguration will increase first class seats from 12 to 16, maintain 30 extra legroom economy seats, and slightly reduce standard economy seats from 117 to 115. The new seats will be similar to those on the Boeing 737 MAX 9, featuring 40" of pitch in first class and 35" in extra legroom economy. Additionally, Alaska's new Boeing 737 MAX 8s will also receive these updated interiors after initial delivery with an interim setup.
