Bears file paperwork to demolish Arlington International Racecourse structures.
The Chicago Bears have filed paperwork to begin demolition at Arlington Park, starting with the interior of the grandstand. The move is believed to be an attempt to decrease the property value and avoid a significant tax increase. The Bears are asking the Board of Review to reassess the tax value of the property, hoping for a decrease of over $37 million. The team acquired the 326-acre land in February.
