Former UK prime minister Tony Blair is joining Donald Trump’s newly formed “Board of Peace” for Gaza alongside Mark Carney and Marco Rubio, as part of a US-backed, UN-supported plan to demilitarize and rebuild Gaza. The board will chair Trump and set portfolios for each member, while day-to-day governance in Gaza will be handled by a 15-member technocratic committee led by Ali Sha’ath, with Nickolay Mladenov as high representative. A separate Gaza executive board—including Turkey, Qatar, Egypt and the UAE—will support governance; there is no Palestinian Authority representation, and Israel has opposed PA involvement.
