"TIFF People's Choice Award Winner 'American Fiction' Shifts Theatrical Release to December"
Cord Jefferson's directorial debut film, "American Fiction," is changing its release plan from a limited opening on November 3rd to December 15th. The scathing satire on the publishing industry and its treatment of serious works by Black writers stars Jeffrey Wright, Issa Rae, Sterling K. Brown, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Skyler Wright. Following its rapturous response at TIFF and winning the People's Choice Award, the studio aims to take advantage of the holiday play period. The film challenges viewers to reflect on and reevaluate their perceptions of Blackness.
