"Cougar Attacks Cyclists in Washington State, Prompting High Alert"
A group of five bikers in Washington were attacked by a cougar, resulting in a 60-year-old woman being injured. The bikers managed to pin down the cougar until a wildlife agent arrived and shot the animal, which was a 6-month-old kitten. Another cougar was spotted but did not attack. Cougar attacks are rare in the state, with only two deadly attacks and 20 injuries in the last 100 years. Wildlife officials advise people to make noise, act big, and not run if they encounter a cougar.
