
Legendary St. John's Coach Lou Carnesecca Dies at 99
Lou Carnesecca, the legendary St. John's University basketball coach, passed away at 99. Known for his colorful personality and successful coaching career, Carnesecca led St. John's to 526 wins and a Final Four appearance in 1985. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1992. Carnesecca, who also coached the ABA's Nets, was celebrated for his dedication to his players and his iconic "lucky sweater." He is survived by his wife, Mary, and daughter, Enes.
