Ivan Toney, the Brentford and England striker, has been banned from football for eight months and fined £50,000 by the Football Association (FA) over 232 betting breaches. Toney will not be able to play for his club or country until his suspension comes to an end on January 16, 2024. The 27-year-old is also not allowed to train until September. Toney responded in a statement saying he is focussed on “returning to play the game I love next season”.
