Bettor's Identity Revealed in Alabama and Cincinnati Baseball Scandals.
Bert Eugene Neff, the father of a University of Cincinnati baseball player, has been identified as the bettor who triggered the firing of former Alabama baseball coach Brad Bohannon. Neff placed large wagers on Alabama to lose to LSU on April 28, which led to the dismissal of Bohannon and two UC staffers. The NCAA is also investigating potential gambling violations at Iowa and Iowa State. Several states, including Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Kansas, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire, have suspended wagering on Alabama baseball.
