"Tigers Replace Báez with Díaz on Bereavement List"
The Detroit Tigers have placed shortstop Javier Báez on the bereavement list following the death of his grandfather. Báez will miss a minimum of three games and can be absent for up to seven games. In his place, the Tigers have called up infielder Isan Díaz from Triple-A Toledo. Báez, who has been dealing with knee soreness, has been in and out of the starting lineup recently as his family made funeral arrangements. He has traveled to Puerto Rico to be with his family, and it is uncertain when he will return. Díaz, a left-handed hitter, was claimed off waivers from the San Francisco Giants and has minor-league experience at multiple infield positions.
