Brewers bolster bullpen with acquisition of left-hander Bennett Sousa.
The Milwaukee Brewers acquired left-handed reliever Bennett Sousa from the Cincinnati Reds for cash considerations and international bonus money. To make room for Sousa on the 40-man roster, Aaron Ashby was transferred to the 60-day injured list. Sousa has been optioned to Triple-A Nashville and is expected to be shuttled back and forth between the major and minor leagues as needed. The 28-year-old left-hander made his MLB debut with the Chicago White Sox last season and owns a career 2.82 ERA and 31% strikeout rate in the minor leagues.
