Despite losing two laps due to a front-right damper failure, the #33 Corvette C8.R crew of Nicky Catsburg, Nico Varrone, and Ben Keating battled up the order and won the GTE Am class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans by a lap. Catsburg and Keating both believed that a comeback was unlikely, but the team's impressive pace and the rate of attrition in the field allowed them to gain back the lost laps. The win marked Corvette's first at Le Mans since 2015.
