Atlanta Braves pitcher Jesse Chavez has been placed on the 15-day Injured List due to a left shin contusion after being hit by a 95+ mph grounder in a game. The team has recalled Ben Heller to replace him in the bullpen. Heller has a career 2.59/5.57/5.15 line in 31 1⁄3 innings and has been pitching in the Rays minor league organization this year. Chavez is expected to recover in two weeks.

Solak was hitting .272/.364/.444 with six home runs in 38 games at Gwinnett.
