Community Efforts Unite to Serve Thousands in WNC This Thanksgiving
Bear's Smokehouse BBQ, in collaboration with the Equal Plates Project, is seeking donations to continue providing 4,000 meals daily to those in need in Western North Carolina until March. This initiative follows their partnership with World Central Kitchen, which served over 1.2 million meals after Hurricane Helene. With World Central Kitchen ending its operations in the area, Bear's Smokehouse aims to raise $1.65 million to fund the delivery of 360,000 meals to affected communities and individuals in Transitional Sheltering Assistance hotels.
