"NY Sheriff's Deputy Dies in Altercation at Batavia Downs"
Genesee County Sheriff’s Sgt. Thomas Sanfratello, a 32-year veteran, died during a brawl at Batavia Downs casino while on special assignment, after an unruly patron attacked him and other officers. The casino was evacuated and closed but has since reopened. Authorities are investigating the incident and ask witnesses with video footage to come forward.
