College Hockey Player Banned from Bar After Pushing Woman's Wheelchair Down Stairs.
Carson Briere, a junior at Mercyhurst University and son of former NHL player Daniel Briere, has been banned from a bar after being accused of pushing an unoccupied wheelchair down the stairs. The wheelchair belonged to a double amputee, and the incident was caught on surveillance video. Briere and two other student-athletes have been placed on interim suspension from their respective teams, and an investigation is being taken over by the Erie Police Department. Briere has apologized for his actions, which have been called "inexcusable" by his father.
