OpenWrt Launches $89 Customizable Router with Open-Source Firmware
The Software Freedom Conservancy has launched the OpenWrt One, an $89 Wi-Fi router designed for open-source enthusiasts, available on AliExpress. This router, developed in collaboration with Banana Pi, supports OpenWRT firmware and allows users to modify and update it independently of corporate schedules. It features dual-band Wi-Fi 6, PoE support, and a design that makes it nearly unbrickable. The OpenWrt One aims to provide a flexible, hacker-friendly alternative to traditional routers.
