Dodgers win over Astros with controversial balk call.
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Houston Astros 8-7 on Saturday after a balk call by umpire Junior Valentine allowed James Outman to score the go-ahead run in the eighth inning. Astros reliever Ryne Stanek was incensed and was ejected from the game, along with Houston manager Dusty Baker. The Dodgers tied the game at 7 in the eighth and went on to win their fourth straight victory. Alex Bregman hit a grand slam for the Astros, who were heavily booed by the crowd for their involvement in the sign-stealing scandal during the 2017 World Series.
