"Bali Bombing Families Confront Accused at Guantanamo Bay Hearing"

Families of British rugby players killed in the 2002 Bali bombings have traveled to Guantanamo Bay to witness the sentencing of two men involved in the attack. The accused will serve six years as part of a plea deal. The families have endured a long struggle for justice and delivered victim impact statements at the special military courtroom. Despite the grueling legal process, they hope the hearings will expose the role of al-Qaeda in the attack and bring closure.

Accused Bali bombing mastermind Hambali faces trial under moderate conditions at Guantanamo Bay.

Encep Nurjaman, also known as Hambali, a 17-year detainee at Guantanamo Bay, is set to face trial for masterminding a series of deadly attacks in Indonesia, including the 2002 Bali bombings that killed 200 people. Hambali and his two co-defendants will be tried before a military commission. The US government alleges that Hambali "murdered 211 persons, seriously injured at least 31 other persons, and committed multiple other offenses under the law of war". Hambali's defense team denies that he knew of the Bali bomb plot in advance. Hambali has been held in Guantanamo since 2006 and is one of only 30 detainees still there.
