Airlines Ordered to Deliver Baggage Within 30 Minutes of Landing
Indian airlines, including Air India, Vistara, and IndiGo, have been ordered by the civil aviation ministry to ensure passengers' bags are delivered within 10 to 30 minutes after landing, with the first bag arriving within 10 minutes of the plane's engine shutting down. This directive follows persistent issues with late baggage delivery at Indian airports, and airlines have until 26 February to comply with the order. The ministry's review found that while airlines' baggage delivery performance had improved, it still did not meet the mandated guidelines, prompting the directive to implement necessary measures for timely baggage delivery.
