Knicks bolster guard depth by trading for Jose Alvarado from Pelicans
The Knicks acquire Jose Alvarado from New Orleans for Dalen Terry and two second-round picks ahead of the trade deadline, adding a tough on-ball defender and reliable depth behind Jalen Brunson. Alvarado, a NYC native who averages 7.9 points and 3.1 assists, joins a Knicks guard rotation that also features Miles McBride, who is out long-term with a sports hernia. By moving Guerschon Yabusele, New York also voided a $5.775 million player option for next year and replaced it with Alvarado’s $4.5 million option.
