Passenger opens plane door mid-flight, detained by South Korean police.

A passenger on an Asiana Airlines flight opened a door on the plane minutes before it landed in Daegu, South Korea, on Friday because he was "uncomfortable" and "wanted to get off the plane quickly." The man, in his thirties, was detained on landing and told police he was stressed after losing his job recently. Nine passengers were taken to hospital with breathing issues. Police sought an arrest warrant for the detained man on Saturday for violation of the Aviation Security Act and other offences.

Passenger opens plane door mid-flight, causing injuries.

A passenger on an Asiana Airlines flight from Jeju to Daegu in South Korea opened a door mid-flight, injuring at least 12 people who were treated for breathing problems. The plane landed safely in Daegu, and police detained a 33-year-old man suspected of throwing the door open. The man confessed to opening the door but did not give a reason. Any person who breaches the Aviation Security Act could be prosecuted and sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
