Adding quality auxiliary lights, such as KC Hilites, to older cars without LED headlights can greatly improve nighttime visibility. The author installed KC Hilites on their Honda Civic Si and found it to be one of their favorite upgrades. While replacing halogen bulbs with LEDs is not recommended due to compatibility issues, aftermarket LED auxiliary lights from reputable brands like Baja Designs, Hella, Diode Dynamics, Rigid, Vision-X, and KC Hilites offer great lighting performance. The author mounted the KC Hilites in the factory fog light area, ensuring stability and ease of wiring. The lights provided clean and long illumination, with the added benefit of a high beam setting. Despite the higher cost, the author believes the KC Flex Era 3 lights are worth it for those seeking a significant improvement in nighttime visibility.
