"Tesla Issues Massive 1.6M Car Recall in China for Autopilot and Steering Fixes"
Tesla is recalling over 1.6 million electric vehicles in China, including Model S, X, 3, and Y, due to issues with the automatic steering assist and door latch controls. The recall, which is Tesla's largest in China, will mostly be addressed through remote software upgrades. This action follows a separate recall in the US aimed at improving driver monitoring systems and comes after a two-year NHTSA investigation into crashes involving the Autopilot system. Tesla, the second-largest seller of electric vehicles in China, will enhance its software to prompt drivers to maintain attention while using Autopilot.
