Australian Surfers Rescued After 38 Hours Missing at Sea off Remote Indonesian Island
Four Australian surfers who went missing after their boat was struck by a storm in a remote part of Indonesia have been rescued after more than 38 hours at sea. They were found "bobbing on surfboards" by a surf charter boat involved in the frantic search. One Australian and one Indonesian crew member remain missing. The group was on a surf trip to celebrate a birthday. The families expressed gratitude to the surf charter boats for their local knowledge in locating the group. The Australian government will continue to provide support, and the search for the missing crew member continues.
