Volkswagen recalls Atlas SUVs, warns against using front passenger seats.
Volkswagen has issued a recall for 143,000 Atlas SUVs due to potential faulty occupant-detection systems in front passenger seats. The passenger occupant-detection system may experience a fault in the wiring, which could deactivate the front passenger airbag even when the seat is occupied. Volkswagen is currently developing a remedy, which it expects to be ready likely in late 2023. Until then, owners are advised not to let people sit in the front passenger seats.
