"Mo Katir Accepts 2-Year Anti-Doping Suspension, Will Miss Paris Olympics and '25 Worlds"

Spanish distance star Mo Katir has accepted a two-year ban for whereabouts failures, leading to his absence from the 2024 Olympics and 2025 World Championships. The ban stems from three incidents in 2023, including missed tests and filing failures, with explanations that were deemed flimsy. Katir's acceptance of the ban means he will retain his medals from the 2022 and 2023 World Championships, impacting athletes like Mario Garcia Romo and Luis Grijalva, who narrowly missed out on medals due to Katir's performances.

Tobi Amusan Cleared for World Championships After Doping Suspension Lifted

Tobi Amusan, the world champion and world record holder in the 100m hurdles, has been cleared to race at the track world championships after a case of missing drug tests. The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) found that Amusan did not commit an anti-doping rule violation, and her provisional suspension has been lifted. Amusan, a 26-year-old from Nigeria, had been provisionally suspended last month while authorities investigated a charge that she missed three drug tests. She is now looking forward to defending her title at the upcoming world championships.
