Tragic Fatality at Ironman Wisconsin Triathlon
A competitor participating in the Ironman Wisconsin triathlon fell ill during the bike portion and later died at a local hospital. The 51-year-old man from Madison, Wisconsin, suffered a medical event in Cross Plains. Ironman Wisconsin expressed condolences to the athlete's family and thanked event personnel and first responders for their support. This incident follows the deaths of two athletes in 2019 during the swim portion of the Ironman 70.3 Wisconsin triathlon.
