Greece acquires rare WWII photo trove showing Nazi executions
Greece has acquired a collection of 262 World War II photographs, along with 16 documents and four banknotes, depicting the last moments of about 200 men executed by German troops after the killing of a Nazi general. The photos, likely taken by a German soldier, were briefly listed on eBay before Belgian verification; they provide rare visual testimony of the 1944 Athens shooting during Nazi occupation and have provoked strong emotion among relatives and historians.
