Astell & Kern PD20 unlocks personalized sound tailored to your hearing
Astell & Kern has unveiled the PD20 portable hi‑res music player, marketed as the first to tailor its sound to a user’s hearing via a Personal Sound system that analyzes each ear and creates a bespoke listening profile. It uses four independent ESS ES9027PRO DACs, a 160-step Sound Master Wheel EQ, ESA delay reduction tech and Digital Audio Remaster to optimize clarity, with a 6-inch display, copper‑clad aluminum chassis, 256GB of internal storage (expandable to 2TB), triple‑amp architecture, and native hi‑res playback up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM and DSD512. Connectivity includes Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, and USB‑C, and it’s set for late‑March release at £1799 / $1970.
