The Detroit Red Wings have reduced their roster to 23 players by assigning several forwards and a defenseman to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins and a forward to the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings. Two forwards have also been designated as injured non-roster. The Red Wings will begin their 98th season in franchise history with a road game against the New Jersey Devils on October 12th.

The Minnesota Wild has reduced its training camp roster to 25 players, assigning F Sammy Walker to the Iowa Wild of the AHL and placing F Vinni Lettieri, D Dakota Mermis, F Nic Petan, and F Sammy Walker on waivers for assignment to Iowa.

The Minnesota Wild has reduced its training camp roster to 31 players, assigning three players to the Iowa Wild of the AHL and placing four players on waivers for assignment to the AHL. Two players were also released from their professional tryouts and will report to the Iowa Wild training camp.

The Red Sox have made roster decisions about several of their top prospects for the minor league system, with Triple-A Worcester featuring several of the organization's top pitching prospects. Bobby Dalbec will play all four infield positions and get exposure at both corner outfield spots. Ceddanne Rafaela, the No. 3 prospect in the Sox system, will start the year in Double-A Portland, where he spent the final months of 2022. Top prospect Marcelo Mayer will open the year in High-A Greenville, and outfielder Miguel Bleis will headline a young group with a high ceiling in Low-A Salem.
