Rising Hate Crimes: Disturbing Attacks on NYC Subway
A teenage girl allegedly assaulted an Asian woman and attacked a witness who was recording the incident on a Manhattan subway train, in what police are investigating as a possible hate crime. The girl, along with two others, was shouting and cursing at the family before physically assaulting the woman and making an anti-ethnic remark. The witness who recorded the incident was also attacked. The victims do not believe the attack was racially motivated but still want accountability. The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident.
