Kelly-Moore Paints Shuts Down Nationwide Stores
Kelly-Moore Paints, a long-standing paint retailer, has ceased operations and closed all of its 61 Bay Area stores due to financial struggles stemming from asbestos claims dating back three decades. Despite efforts to secure new capital investment or a potential sale, the company was unable to attract funding and ultimately halted operations, leaving 700 workers displaced. The closure will impact professional painters and the commercial real estate market, but the company's facilities, except for a distribution center, have been permanently shut down.
