Reuters Journalist Killed in Lebanon Conflict, Others Injured
A Reuters journalist, Issam Abdallah, was killed and six others were injured when Israel fired artillery into southern Lebanon, where they were gathered. The incident, which also impacted journalists from AFP and Al Jazeera, highlights one of the worst press catastrophes in Israel's war against Hamas. The journalists were wearing press-labeled jackets at the time of the attack. The Israel Defense Forces acknowledged firing artillery into Lebanon but did not admit responsibility for the journalist's death. At least 10 journalists have been killed since the start of the war.
