David Perron of the Red Wings suspended 6 games for cross-checking Artem Zub
Detroit Red Wings forward David Perron has been suspended for six games by the NHL's Department of Player Safety for cross-checking Ottawa Senators defenseman Artem Zub. Perron's hit came in response to his teammate Dylan Larkin being struck in the head and neck area by Ottawa forwards Mathieu Joseph and Parker Kelly. Perron will forfeit a portion of his salary to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund. Larkin, who was motionless on the ice after the incident, has been placed on injured reserve with no current timeframe for his return. Perron's absence will be a blow to the Red Wings, who are already missing Larkin and fighting for a playoff spot.
