The Manhattan District Attorney's office returned two drawings by Austrian artist Egon Schiele to the heirs of Fritz Grünbaum, a Jewish cabaret performer and art collector who died in a concentration camp during the Holocaust. Grünbaum's descendants have spent decades searching for his lost art collection, which was stolen by the Nazis and trafficked illegally. The returned artworks are being auctioned off at Christie's, and the proceeds will fund scholarships for artists. Many of Grünbaum's artworks are still missing, and his heirs are pursuing legal action to recover them.
