Multiple Fires Cause Major Highway Closures in Arizona and Texas
A brush fire named the "Cross Fire" temporarily closed Interstate 17 north of Cordes Lakes in Arizona, caused by a horse trailer. The fire burned approximately 26 acres and is 50% contained, with forward progress stopped. Both directions of the interstate have since reopened, but the right lane remains blocked on I-17 Southbound.
