"Severe Weather Strikes Appalachia: Flash Flooding and Tornado Watch"
Parts of southern and central West Virginia are under a flood warning until Friday morning after receiving 3-5 inches of rain on Thursday, leading to flash flooding and water rescues. Many roads and areas remain closed due to high water, and concerns persist for flood-prone and downstream areas as certain waterways are expected to crest. Several school districts closed or delayed classes, and over 12,000 Appalachian Power customers were without service, with Kanawha County experiencing nearly half of the outages.
