Ford Pushes 2026 Recall Total Beyond 7 Million With Backup-Camera Fixes
Ford's 2026 recall tally rose to about 7.32 million after two new issues affecting backup cameras: one for 2021–2026 Bronco and 2021–2024 Edge SUVs with APIM overheating that can wipe out the backup image, and another for 2020–2022 Escape and Lincoln Corsair plus 2020–2024 Explorer and Lincoln Aviator where screens flip or display reversed images. Both require software updates. The automaker has 17 recalls this year, far ahead of Toyota and Hyundai's five each; a February recall earlier in the year affected 4.38 million vehicles for faulty trailer brake lighting, underscoring Ford's high recall activity.
