Anurag Maloo, an Indian mountain climber, was found alive after falling almost 1,000 feet down a crevasse on Nepal's Mount Annapurna and surviving there for three days. He was rescued by a team that included several Sherpas and a Polish climber and airlifted to a hospital in critical condition. Maloo was on a mission to climb the 14 highest peaks in the world to raise awareness for the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Annapurna is considered an especially dangerous trek, and renowned Irish climber Noel Hanna perished there this week.

Indian Climber Anurag Maloo Found Alive After Falling into Annapurna Crevasse.

An Indian climber, Anurag Maloo, who went missing after falling into a crevasse on Mount Annapurna in Nepal, has been found alive in a critical condition by rescuers. Two other Indian climbers were rescued on Tuesday, while an Irish climber died while descending Annapurna. Mr Maloo is currently seeking treatment at Manipal Hospital in Pokhara city. Last year, Mr Maloo successfully climbed a mountain in the eastern Himalayan range in Nepal.

Irish climber Noel Hanna died while returning from the summit of Mount Annapurna, while Indian climber Anurag Maloo fell into a crevasse on the same mountain and is still missing. Another Indian climber, Baljeet Kaur, fell ill on the way down from the summit but survived after spending the night on the mountain. Annapurna is known for being avalanche-prone and technically difficult, with a higher death rate than Everest. The spring mountaineering season has just begun in the Himalayas in Nepal, and hundreds of climbers have begun climbing the highest peaks.
