Starbucks Denies Banning Pride Decorations Despite Union Claims
Starbucks denies allegations made by its workers' union that it banned in-store Pride decorations halfway through Pride Month. The union had accused Starbucks of caving under pressure from anti-LGBTQ+ consumers. However, Starbucks spokesperson Andrew Trull denied the reports and said that there has been no change to any policy on this matter. Workers in Oklahoma were reportedly ordered to remove rainbow paraphernalia from multiple stores, with leadership telling baristas it was a safety issue related to the recent attacks on Target. Starbucks has historically marketed a pro-LGBTQ+ agenda.
