Bay Area Serial Killer Anthony Sully Dies in Custody at San Quentin
Anthony J. Sully, a former police officer turned serial killer, has died from natural causes while on death row at San Quentin prison in California. Sully was convicted of murdering six victims, beating, raping, and killing women inside his Burlingame warehouse. He had been incarcerated since 1986. Another death row inmate, Ronald L. Sanders, also died from natural causes. California has not carried out a death row execution in 17 years, and Governor Gavin Newsom has instituted a moratorium on the death penalty in the state.
