'Bohemian Rhapsody' Producers and Screenwriter Settle Legal Battle Over Biopic Profits
Screenwriter Anthony McCarten has ended his two-year-long lawsuit against the producers of the film "Bohemian Rhapsody" over unpaid profits. McCarten had sought 5% of GK Films' profits for writing the Freddie Mercury biopic but claimed he had not been paid. The lawsuit was dismissed "with prejudice," and no details of any settlement were made public. The film, which grossed $911 million worldwide, had been reported to be in the red by $51 million, according to accounting statements.
