Antalya Film Festival Canceled Amid Censorship Battle
Turkey's Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, the country's top international film event, has been canceled due to political pressure after controversy arose over the inclusion of a documentary titled "Decree." The film, which focuses on the aftermath of a failed coup attempt in Turkey, led to the withdrawal of financial support from the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry. The festival's artistic director and president were fired, and many local directors pulled their films from the lineup in protest. This is the first time the festival has been canceled due to political censorship.
